Blackwell Mills

This was the site of the junction and also of the smallest station in the UK, with platforms just 12 feet long, built to serve local railwaymen’s cottages. In 1927 two trains called weekly, the 9am Millers Dale to Buxton, and the 11.40am return, on Fridays only.

After Blackwood Mill the junction at the other side of the triangle, the trains were now into Ashwood Dale as the final part of the line to Buxton.
